the moon with a half-smile

this is something you already know.

you are not seeking signs, nor reading the words i leave out for you to find. there's no need for my petty half-truths and lies, for you understand the true feelings i often try to hide.

i unlock this chest and lay bare this guarded heart. these words, i weave them into the color you painted on my monochrome world.

this is something i wrote for you.

only for you.

brain itches Theme by Adam Holwerda.

When it starts to take toll…

I hear them ring, the bells ring at a distance.
Ding. Dong. Ding. Dong.

I walk and I run and I hear the sounds,
Clack, clack, clackity-clack.

I stop. And I look roundabout.
The leaves are stirring, stirring for me
as the breeze I summoned came and
went through this silhouette body.

Stillness and silence, my friends.
I keep to the world of my own creating
and the beat of the drums keep a-drumming
Dum. Dum. Dum. Dum.

It grows louder and louder.
Dum. Dum. Dum. Dum.

Heart is still beating, going a-thumping
Dum. Dum. Dum. Dum.

The coldness takes over and I chill,
I shake and I tremble and crumple until
Under the covers, I hide from the outside
“Take me away, take me away”, I say.

“Take me away.”
